Remember!
The Cantate Choir's next concert will be staged on Armistice Day November 11 at St Mary's Church, Kippington Road, Sevenoaks on Saturday November 11 at 7.30 pm. For this special day the choir has devised a programme titled Remember!, comprising remembrances and recollections in music and verse.
Included in the programme will be Karl Jenkins' popular The Armed Man, Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings in its choral setting as the Agnus Dei, Vaughan Williams arrangement of Greensleeves and Elgar's Nimrod played by guest organist Iestyn Evans. The concert will feature the first performance outside London of a new piece - If I rise - by Nimrod Borenstein, a young composer gaining a worldwide reputation. Poems by Wilfred Owen, Christina Rossetti and Tennyson will be read by well-known Sevenoaks actors James Wallace and Veronica Christophers.
