Concert - St Mary's Church, Platt on 11 June 2005

Poster for June Concert - A Summer Romance

Following the success of its highly-acclaimed Renaissance Revealed concert at St Nicholas' Church, Sevenoaks, in March, the Cantate Choir is staging its next offering A Summer Romance at St Mary's Church, Platt, nr Borough Green on Saturday 11th June at 7.30pm. The programme will comprise music from the Romantic period including Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer and Brahms' How Lovely are Thy Dwellings from his German Requiem. Music by Elgar, Grieg and Schumann is also featured and the concert ends with Parry's rousing Blest Pair of Sirens.

On this occasion the choir will be joined by Michael Higgins, prize-winning pianist from the Royal Academy of Music, who will accompany the choir on both organ and piano, as well as performing solo works by Brahms and Schumann.

Tickets (£10 to include refreshments) are available from Sevenoaks Bookshop, High Street, Sevenoaks or from The Cantate Box Office on 01892 545799
